Alexander McLaren's Land Selections


Jun 1874 Alexander McLaren (and his 1868 neighbour, Pinkney Wormwell) selected land. 

17 Jun 1874 The Queenslander

Dalby. At the Land Court held on the 5th instant, by Mr. Commissioner McDowall, the following selections were accepted under the Homestead Areas Act acres:- 

320 acres pastoral, P. Wormwell, Greenbank;
320 acres pastoral, A. McLaren, Greenbank - subject to amendment of boundaries.


​The land was located near Ranges Bridge.
Alexander selected Lot 302 (320 arcres) and Pinkney selected Lot 300.
Alexander also selected a second larger allotment, Lot 344 comprising 640 acres.

​29 Jul 1879 Alexander McLaren’s selection was provisionally approved, along Pinkney Wormwell's.

At the Land Court held at this place on the 29th, the following applications to select Crown lands where disposed of:
No. 302, Alexander McLaren. 320 acres, subject to bailiff’s report.      
No. 300. Pinkney Wormwell. 320 acres, subject to bailiff’s report.

Alexander's Lot 344 was incorporated into Lot 336.  

Several kilometres to the south are lots owned by Donald McLaran's family between 1900 and 1927:
